Latch On” at Millennium Park

Be part of a global challenge to have the most babies latched at the same time!

Enjoy snacks, great door prizes, grab bags at this family friendly event. FREE coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or latte for participating parents compliments of the Silver Bean Café.

Display Room at Millennium Park, 130 King Street, Peterborough (beside the Silver Bean Café).

Arrive around 10:15 a.m. to register. Participate in the Breastfeeding “Latch On” at 11:00 a.m.


October 1

Infant Massage Class

Peterborough Child and Family Centres is offering a FREE infant massage class for parents and babies. This one hour session will introduce you to the tools and information you need to communicate with your baby through loving touch. Pre-registration is required at or 705-748-9144 ext. 318.

Peterborough Child and Family Centres, 201 Antrim Street from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Peterborough Public Library Storytime

The Peterborough Public Library is a breastfeeding friendly facility and welcomes all families to come and explore our space, especially the Children's Department.  During World Breastfeeding Week, come and enjoy our FREE Drop In Storytime from 10-11:15 a.m.  As well, registration for our Baby and Me Program (birth - 12 mos.) begins this week on Thursday, October 4th, running Thursday mornings October 25th - November 29th.  Spaces are limited.

Social Media Day

Post your “brelfie” (breastfeeding selfie) on your social media accounts with #ptbobreastfeeds. All week watch for the “Breastfeeding Welcome Here” signs on the outer doors of Lansdowne Place, and share on your social media accounts.

Breastfeeding Parent and Baby Yoga

Yoga instructor and La Leche League leader Sonja Martin is offering FREE yoga. This is a gentle, safe, restorative class for breastfeeding parents and babies, focusing on stretches to relieve tightness and tension from nursing, and carrying your wee one. Breastfeeding parents are supported in connecting to their baby using breath work and massage techniques. This hour-long class is a time to relax, connect with your baby, and practice self-care. The class is suitable for all breastfeeding parents and babies newborn to age two. Some yoga mats are available if needed.

Peterborough Public Health, 185 King Street (between Aylmer and George) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

October 5

Baby Wearing and Stroller Walk through Jackson Park

Peterborough Mom-to-Mom breastfeeding support and Peterborough Babywearers invite you to meet up with other mamas and join us for a stroll through the park. Pop your baby in your stroller or carrier and join us for a fun walk along the lovely scenic trails. A ‘rain or shine’ event.

Meet at Upper Jackson parking area (Monaghan and Parkhill Roads) at 09:45 a.m. and start walking at 10:00 a.m. After the walk stay and enjoy a snack and a chat at the playground.
